Ice storms are beautiful

I have never seen the results of an ice storm before yesterday. It is amazing. All the trees are covered in ice and when the sun hits them it looks like crystals glistening. On the other hand the ice storm caused a lot of damage around the state. The roads to Dayton were awful. We left to visit Bryan's family yesterday. We expected the trip to take an hour and a half. We were stuck in traffic for 4 hours. Yuck. Today we get to brave more traffic while traveling up to Canton to visit the other half of Bryan's family. Hopefully it is better than yesterday. Merry Xmas to everyone!

$31.80 for coffee and $33.00 for popcorn

Yep that's right. Who would be so stupid to pay so much for these items. Well I guess that would be me. Not being responsible enough with our bank account made me do it. When I looked up our banking information today I saw that since the $4500 in our reserve line had been used up on our checking account every purchase beyond that amount would be assessed a $30 overdraft charge. So now I have a grand total of $180 in just overdraft fees. Sickening isn't it? Well maybe just to me and of course to Bryan if he reads this blog. I wrote a please be kind email to the bank to see if they can have a xmas heart a please just this once forgive the fees. A $180 mistake. Ouch. Well there goes any xmas money that might have been coming. Well I guess it depends on the bank now. I will be a lover of US BANK forever if they are kind enough. Okay Mei is at my side saying Up! Up! Bye

Unsettling Dreams

The other day I came across court TV's web page about the Scott/ Laci Peterson trial. I got very caught up in it and wasted too much time reading the wired tapped conversations. Anyhow I then read on about the Michael Jackson trial that is still in the making. I read the awful allegation that the 13 year old boy made against him back in 1993 or so. Awful not that it was an allegation but awful that it was very descriptive and graphic.
Moving on to my dreams last night, I was the the molester that was also involved in kidnapping Laci.
I think I will stick to reading children's books with the girls for a while.

A few more ramblings

Xmas tree update- Convinced Bryan that spending $10 more on a tree would make our lives so much more meaningful. We were able to get my favorite type of tree which is a Canaan fir. It is very small but cute. Meila is quite fascinated with it and continually is either pulling off ornaments (big surprise right?) or falling down against the tree. That I don't get. Is it the multicolored lights that get her dizzy?

Tomorrow I have a very exciting day. Bryan will take the girls on a gymnastics outing and I will have HOURS upon HOURS to hang out childless with one of my bestest friends. That's you Kenj. We were going to go get our hair done for cheap at the Aveda Institute but apparently they are booked up. So besides going to lunch @ Wolfgang Puck Express (check it out @ http://www.wolfgangpuck.com/myrestaurants/express/) the afternoon is unplanned. Maybe a movie or shopping. This many seem like such a small thing but really I can't remember the last time I got to hang out with a friend with out having to attend to my kiddies at the same time. Well I guess back in October I did get to go out for Kendra's B-day. That was kind of a blur. Lots of Vodka Redbulls and crazy girlfriends. A good way to celebrate your friends last year of being in her twenties.

I spoke to my wonderful mother the other day who told me she wanted me to spend $50 each on the girls and Bryan on Xmas gifts for her. This is so wonderful because it gives me the chance to xmas shop when I really shouldn't be. Thanks Mama!!

It is so 4.46 in the morning and I so can not sleep! (read last blog) Meila will be up shortly screaming MAMA!! MAMA!! MAMA!! MAMA!! MAMA!! Until I get my butt out of bed and get her out of the crib. Sometimes I am lucky and she will go back to sleep with Bryan and I. Other times she adamantly signs hungry until I give in and take her down stairs for Yo Baby, cereal bars, soy links, and cereal with milk.
Well I am going to go stare at my ceiling while Bryan snores me to sleep for hopefully another hour or so. Good nite- Or should I say Good Morning? Haha what a dork am I.

Caffeine Headache 4:30 am

Future reminder-
Do not drink more coffee than you do water. Do not drink 2 cups of coffee at 11pm even if the 2nd cup was free.

Money

I have gotten so used to using credit that we are way over our heads. I don't feel like I am being irresponsible with money it is just that we hardly have any income. So buying just about anything ends up having to go on the credit card. Like utility bills, car payments and even ballet lessons. Ballet of course is not a necessity but Anya is so good at it and truly loves it. I can't imagine having her quit. Though as we get to the end of our credit limits I may be forced to.
I feel that we really try to live modestly yet it's still not enough. I should get out of this funk of thinking by being thankful for what we do have. We have health, companionship, family, love, food stamps, free violin lessons, free medical, family in Hawaii that buys us airline tickets to visit. I already feel better. Also a few more years and Bryan will be totally finished with school and looking towards a promising career. Yehaw
I still want the $35 xmas tree even if Bryan thinks it's frivolous to have a tree at all. ( he agreed to spend $25, but all those trees are UGLY.
What about xmas gifts for the girls? I am sure they will both get plenty of gifts from their grandparents but I wish I could get them something special too.
